For the past week, Junior has been falling asleep without complaining at all. After his bath, bottle, toothbrush and story, we'll put him in his crib and he'll sing himself to sleep. He doesn't even want to cuddle in the rocking chair. In fact, he'll complain if you don't put him in the crib right away after turning off the lights. Mommy's a little sad that he's not interested in snuggling anymore. Junior is growing up.
He stills gets himself into trouble frequently. The latest was the rice in the nose fiasco. We never were able to remove it, but we figure it probably dissolved on its own. He then somehow made Mommy's hair brush disappear. Mommy hasn't brushed her hair in over a week.
He had his 15 month checkup a few days ago. He remembered the clinic from his 12 month visit and started getting upset right away. He got 3 shots and 2 toe-pricks this time. Needless to say he was very angry. We're surprised at how much he's grown in 3 months. He is now 33.25 inches tall and 25lb 14 oz. That's about 95th percentile in height and 75th for weight. The strangest thing is that he stopped drinking milk cold-turkey after the appointment. The doctor was just telling us that he should try to be weaned off the bottle by 18 months. Junior must have misunderstood that as meaning he should stop drinking milk, because he's refused every bottle of milk since. Doesn't matter if it's in a bottle, soft-spout sippie, hard-spout sippie, regular cup, warm, cold or in-between. We've moved on to the alternatives of yogurt and cheese so that he gets at least some calcium.
