DT turns 1!

DT turned 1 back in June. We're a little late with the post.

Grandma K came to visit just for the occasion.
We had 2 birthday parties for him, just like we had for Junior. The Korean birthday was at home with family, including his cousin DD and good buddy KS. The other one was at a local park and it was combined with another little boy turning one.

DT was not yet able to walk on his birthday, but he could stand for a long time and take one or two steps before plopping down on his bum.  He understands a lot of things as well.  He will give you a nice wet kiss if you say "bpo bpo" to him.  He's getting better at feeding himself now too.  Meal or snack time is a messy affair, but he gets most of the food in his mouth.

He's beginning to talk more and more each day. He can copy words pretty well. Right now his vocabulary is mainly in Cantonese, but he will copy words in English and Korean too.

These two boys are getting crazier and crazier every day. They seem to really enjoy each other's company, but very often they will fight for the same toy. It's usually DT wanting to play with whatever Junior is playing with at the time. We suppose it is normal for siblings to behave this way. Junior will now play with his toys at the kitchen table to get them away from DT's grasp. DT is taller than the kitchen table now and trying to climb everything, so soon there will be no place that is safe.

Junior will come back from daycare having learned all sorts of unexpected things.  A few weeks ago he started singing the main song from "Frozen".  This came up because he was trying to tell me that he and his buddy Saul got into a fight, because Saul wouldn't let Jr sing the "Let it go" song.  Then all of a sudden he started singing the chorus, pretty much in key.
